Shannon, Ireland and Teruel, Spain, Tuesday, August 5, 2025 – International Aerospace Coatings (“IAC” or the “Company”) has announced plans to expand its presence at the strategically located Teruel, Spain airport with the construction of an additional widebody hangar adjacent to its existing widebody facility there.
This news follows IAC’s announcement earlier this year regarding plans to develop a new state-of-the-art, widebody aircraft painting facility at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport in Amarillo, Texas.
This new facility will position IAC to meet rapidly growing demand for its paint services with state-of-the-art aircraft-painting equipment such as extraction pumps and a high-tech air-recirculation system. It is expected to be operational in Q3 2026, creating approximately 60 new full-time jobs in the region and bringing IAC’s total employment in Teruel to over 130 people.
IAC’s existing hangar in Teruel was opened in 2023 following the company’s acquisition in late 2022 by Tiger Infrastructure Partners (“Tiger Infrastructure”), a leading middle market infrastructure investment firm and pioneer in growth infrastructure.
Martin O’Connell, CEO of IAC, said: “Teruel is a strategic hub of the aerospace industry, and this next-generation hangar, the 21st in our global network, will enable us to elevate the scale and quality of our already best-in-class service to our prominent OEM and airline customers, whose material growth in their fleets is driving rising demand for our essential service. This second widebody hangar will create new jobs and drive sustainable growth for the local community, IAC would like to acknowledge the continued support of Government of Aragon, Teruel Airport Authority and Teruel City Council.”
Emil W. Henry, Jr., CEO and CIO of Tiger Infrastructure, said: “IAC’s expansion at Teruel is the latest example of Tiger Infrastructure’s value-creation playbook in action – we help growth infrastructure platforms like IAC build and optimize their assets, people and capital. The new project at Teruel follows a similar expansion in Amarillo, TX announced earlier this year, and we anticipate additional projects will follow based on robust customer demand in the global aviation industry. These strategic growth initiatives enhance IAC’s market-leading position. And the essential nature of the company’s service was recognized in IAC’s recent debt refinancing, in which the company achieved an investment grade rating for the first time in its history. This financing included additional capital to fund strategic growth initiatives, like Amarillo and Teruel, positioning the company for future growth.”
IAC expects to break ground at Teruel in August 2025. IAC’s expansive global footprint across Europe and North America, combined with its strong operational track record, has enabled the company to service some of the largest airlines, OEMs and aircraft lessors in the world. The facility is the fourth expansion facility undertaken by IAC since it was acquired in December 2022 by Tiger Infrastructure Partners. The new hangar will increase the IAC portfolio to 21 hangars globally, increasing the total number of paint lines available globally from 30 to 32.
