International Aerospace Coatings (IAC) announces development of a new, state-of-theart, widebody aircraft painting facility at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport in Amarillo, Texas.
Shannon, Ireland and Amarillo, Texas, Monday, April 7th 2025 — International Aerospace Coatings (“IAC” or the “Company”) announced plans to construct a new widebody hangar at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (“AMA”), Texas, USA. This state-of-the-art hangar will be located across the ramp from IAC’s five existing widebody and narrowbody hangars and construction will begin in the coming months. IAC’s new widebody hangar is expected to be operational in 2H 2026, creating 65 new jobs for the region, bringing IAC’s total employment in Amarillo to over 200.
Martin O’Connell, CEO of IAC, stated: “I am delighted to make this announcement. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for IAC to expand our growing footprint globally. We have been operational in Amarillo for over thirty years and I look forward to continuing to build and strengthen our relationships here. This expansion has been in our plans for a long time to help address our needs for additional capacity and we are excited to announce commencement of the build. I very much look forward to beginning operations at this new facility and ensuring we continue to deliver the same best-in-class quality service that our customers have come to expect from IAC.”
IAC currently operates five paint hangars at AMA, four narrowbody and one widebody. This new widebody hangar will further strengthen IAC’s long-standing presence of over thirty years at AMA. IAC’s newest facility will be capable of housing all commercial aircraft types up to a B777-X and will feature internal ancillary office space, workshops, plant rooms and storage space. This new facility will be specifically designed and constructed for aircraft painting with state-of-the-art equipment such as extraction pumps and a high-tech air recirculation system.
Michael Conner, Director of Aviation at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport, said: “The airport’s partnership with IAC is very important, and I am excited to see that IAC is taking full advantage of the opportunities the Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport has to offer. The addition of this new wide-body aircraft paint hangar will be great for the community, the airport, and IAC. Congratulations! I am looking forward to its completion.”
IAC’s expansive global footprint across North America and Europe, combined with its strong operational track record, has enabled the company to service some of the largest airlines, OEM’s and aircraft lessors in the world. The facility is the third expansion facility undertaken by IAC since it was acquired in December 2022 by Tiger Infrastructure Partners. The new hangar will increase the IAC portfolio to 20 hangars globally, increasing the total number of paint lines available at IAC’s US locations from 18 to 20 and globally from 28 to 30.
Marc H. Blair, Tiger Infrastructure COO & Senior Managing Director, added “IAC is a leader in providing essential aircraft painting services and this new hangar continues IAC’s purposeful growth trajectory. It is the third discrete new infrastructure asset added since 2023 – all supported by long-term customer demand. We are excited about the long-term concession and expanded partnership with Amarillo International Airport, and we believe this strategic expansion project will result in positive outcomes for the Amarillo region, IAC’s valued customers, and IAC.”
