Facilities & Maintenance Operator – Swords, Co. Dublin

Position Overview:

The Facilities & Maintenance Operator will be responsible for all activities and tasks associated with the maintenance and upkeep of the facility and equipment.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Using the daily check list, complete morning walk-around and visual inspections of facilities and equipment. In doing so, identify and note any safety issues or areas that require maintenance or repair.
  • Email daily checklist to Production Manager’s, indicating any new issues, priorities, work activities planned for the day.
  • Agree job priorities with the Production Manager to minimise any impact on hangar schedule and work activities.
  • Carry Out Weekly/ Monthly/Quarterly checks as per job list provided by Management, update job list on database.
  • Assign lockers to new employees and administer lock log.
  • Manage the Tool Room in Hangar 3 and ensure, logs are accurately maintained at all times, equipment is working correctly and the house keeping is in good order.
  • Repair and maintain equipment and machinery, including paint sprayers, compressors, ventilation systems and lighting fixtures.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as replacing filters, lubricating machinery, and adjusting equipment settings.
  • Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests from the painting team, ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring that necessary supplies are always available.
  • Implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of all personnel working in the painting hangar facility.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including maintenance schedules, repair logs, and equipment manuals.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure that the painting hangar facility meets the needs of the business.
  • Conduct induction and safety training with new hires, both employees and contractors. This induction training will provide all new employees with an overview of the relevant company’s policies, procedures, and safety protocols. This training will ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities and obligations while working in the painting hangar facility. Topics covered in the induction training will include hazard identification and risk assessment, emergency response procedures, and safety equipment requirements. As with all training, this programme will be review and modified periodically.
  • Provide Escort duties to visitors on site.
  • Any other duties associated with the maintenance and upkeep of all facilities and equipment, and other safety related training.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience working in industry or construction in a maintenance and facilities role.
  • Qualified fitter, electrician, mechanical or engineering qualification would be a distinct advantage.
